The day after Thanksgiving
The turkey’s all gone,
The pies are consumed,
And my waistline has grown!
The dishes are piled
in my sink very high
And the laundry has grown
Nearly reaching the sky!
But the kids got to play
With their long distance cousins
And grandma and grandpa
Got hugs by the dozens!
Our family all gathered
Around the big table
And thanked our dear Lord
That for this we are able.
And for giving us more
Than we ever could need
Our homes, and our health
And a country that’s free!
So, Happy Thanksgiving
My home’s now a mess,
But I’ll clean it up gladly
For I truly am blessed!
